When I Say My Weekend is All Booked…I Mean It

When I say my weekend is all booked I mean it literally…with books.

Anytime I have the chance to sit down I have a book in my hand and a cat in my lap

Currently I’m reading ‘We Were the Lucky Ones,” a WW2 Historical Fiction novel.

It is one of my favorite genres to read although it is heartbreaking at the same time.  Particularly this novel.   Normally when I love a book I can’t put it down but with “We Were The Lucky Ones” I find myself having to take a break emotionally.

I also just finished “The Huntress,” a WW2 Fictional book about an English journalist and a Russian female bomber pilot who join forces to track the Huntress, a Nazi war criminal gone to ground in America.

“In the aftermath of war, the hunter becomes the hunted…”

Do you have chills yet?  If so, read this!

My other favorite genre is Young Adult.  Yes, I’m an almost 40 year old woman but I still love YA.  Growing up I read every single Babysitters Club Book and Sweet Valley High and my love of the genre stuck with me.

“Five Feet Apart” a best selling YA book, is being turned into a movie so I wanted to read it first.

Verdict: Loved the book. Can’t wait to see the movie!

I also recently finished this YA novel by an author whose previous book I loved (‘They Both Die at the End’)

And although this one wasn’t as depressing (that title says it all) it was very repetitive.  I just wanted the two main characters to figure it out and fall in love already!

So those are the books I’ve read in April.  I also listened to 4 audiobooks.
Anna Kendrick: Scrappy Little Nobody
Lauren Graham: Talking As Fast As I Can
Us Against You by Fredrik Backman

and
Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire (I’m currently binge listening through the entire series AGAIN)

What have you read lately?   -Stephanie
