This weekend we honored our fallen heroes on Memorial Day but a few days before a new study showed many still don’t know the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

Too often it becomes a 3 day weekend that folks are celebrating saying “Happy Memorial Day” instead of the true meaning behind the day.
That said, our heroes died for our freedom so that we CAN enjoy a beach day or grilling out and spending time with family and we couldn’t be more grateful.
My sister came to town with her kids and we enjoyed some family time
We took the kids to the pool (and my husband turned into a kid himself which I love watching)
My favorite part of summer is fresh fruit at the farmstand so we stopped at Sugar Babies on Shore Drive for some fresh peaches, cantaloupe and watermelon.
and took the kids to see Aladdin…which despite the bad reviews, we loved!
The weekend wouldn’t be complete without firing up the grill though
But it wouldn’t be possible without the ones who gave their lives for our freedom. We don’t know them all, but we owe them all.
