Country Music’s Best Super Bowl Performances [WATCH]

Super Bowl LVII is this Sunday and Reba is set to sing the National Anthem in a ‘full-circle moment.’

Do you remember some of the biggest country stars in the Super Bowl over the years?

As we look forward to this upcoming performance, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and recall some of the biggest country stars who have left their mark on the Super Bowl stage.

The late Charley Pride was the first country artist to perform the national anthem before a Super Bowl, in 1974. Pride was also the first-ever solo artist to sing the anthem at a Super Bowl. In addition to “The Star-Spangled Banner,” he also sang “America The Beautiful.”

In 1994, Clint Black, Tanya Tucker, The Judds, and Travis Tritt were the first country artists to perform at halftime.


In 2003, Shania Twain, No Doubt and Sting provided the halftime entertainment.


 

In 1993, Garth Brooks sang the National Anthem at the big game, but it almost didn’t happen.

Garth said he’d do the anthem if his video for “We Shall Be Free” was shown during the game. Before game time, producers reviewed the clip and decided it was too controversial. Garth left the stadium until his demand was met.

Garth and producers talked it out, he sang the Anthem, and the video was aired.

In 2000, Faith Hill’s performance of The Star Spangled Banner was flawless.

in 2012, (then-married couple) Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert sang America The Beautiful ahead of the game.

Luke Bryan got high marks in 2017 for his National Anthem rendition.  Watch his performance here.

Eric and Jazmine Sullivan had the honors in 2021.

In 2022, Mickey Guyton knocked it out of the park.

And in 2023 it was Chris Stapleton who blew the roof off with his performance of the National Anthem.
