2021 CMA Awards Snubs and Star Reactions

The Country Music Association announced the nominees for the 2021 CMA Awards on Thursday and as always, a few names were left off the list that have us shook.

Carrie Underwood did not receive a nomination for Female Vocalist of the Year for the first time in her 15 year career! She did, however, earn a nod for Entertainer of the Year alongside Eric Church, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, and Chris Stapleton.

Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett and Chris Stapleton will compete in the Male Vocalist category so who does that leave out?  Well Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, and Keith Urban just to name a few.  The four country superstars were completely shut out.

Luke did receive a mention for his appearance on Jordan Davis’ “Buy Dirt.”  The pair are up for Musical Event of the Year.

Another snub? Lee Brice, who had a huge hit with “One of Them Girls,” didn’t get a nomination for Single of the Year along with Luke Combs “Forever After All,” which spent 6 weeks at #1.

“Forever After All” was nominated for Song of the Year though (which goes to the songwriter).

Meanwhile, the stars who scored nominations took to social media to thank the CMA.
