Jimmie Allen Honors Late Father with DWTS Performance {WATCH}

Jimmie Allen and Emma Slater danced the Paso Doble to “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from the movie “Mulan” on Dancing with the Stars Disney Week: Heroes Night!

Jimmie honored his late father with an emotional performance.

“When I think of heroes, I think of my Father,” Allen shared during rehearsals. “He’s the one that raised me on ‘never make an excuse’ and that’s helped me so much with my career.”

“He died in 2019 from Kidney failure. I definitely miss him every day. So, I knew my Dad was going to die in the next day or so [at the time] and I was going to go to the hospital, but they said he was non-responsive, couldn’t talk,” Allen recalled. “So I was like, ‘do I want to be in this hospital just watching him lay there like that?’ So, I went to me and my dad’s favorite fishing spot. For me, that was a peaceful way to remember my Dad and be okay just knowing that I was going to have kids he’ll never meet.”

Jimmie and Emma scored a 30 (8,7,8,7) out of a possible 50 points, plus they were awarded 2 bonus points for winning the “Mickey Dance Challenge” – which was a pre-determined set of moves that they had to include in their dance.

Jimmie talked backstage to Backstreet Boy AJ McClean about performing two dances this week.

and on how he’s balancing touring with his dance schedule.

On Tuesday night, Disney Week continued with Villains Night. Jimmie and Emma performed a Jazz dance to Billie Eilish‘s “Bad Guy” inspired by the Disney movie Peter Pan.
