Bring Your Old Batteries, Cellphones, Prescriptions, and More to the E-Cycling Event at the Virginia Aquarium this Saturday
September 3, 2024
The Virginia Aquarium will host an e-cycling event this Saturday, September 7th, from 9 am to noon.
Participants can plan on recycling old cell phones, used vehicle batteries, personal electronic items, unneeded prescriptions, cardboard, and more. The event will be a drive-through in the Aquarium’s East Parking Lot with participating vendors including AAA Tidewater Virginia, Goodwill Industries, Bay Disposal, Virginia Beach Police Department, and new this year, the 911 Cellphone Bank, where old cellphones will be refurbished and donated to victims of human trafficking.
Participants should note that the event will end promptly at noon, so arriving on time is essential. The event is limited to personal-use items only, and items from businesses cannot be accepted. To assist in getting an accurate headcount, organizers encourage free advance registration.
In the event of extreme weather, the E-Cycling event will be rescheduled to October 12. This is an excellent opportunity for the community to dispose of old electronics responsibly and contribute to a greener planet while supporting a good cause.
