Luke Combs broke down while performing “Whoever You Turn Out to Be” from his Fathers & Sons album at the Newport Folk Festival. After singing a line about being proud of his kids, he paused to compose himself, telling the crowd, “Sorry, that got me a little bit.”

Luke appeared on the Mostly Sports With Mark Titus and Brandon Walker podcast, explaining, “I’m just not used to doing that song, and before we did the song, I’m giving the story of the song. I’m like, hey, you know this song is… I want my kids to know that no matter what, I’m I’m there for them regardless of whoever they may be. As I was talking, I was thinking about it, and then I’m singing the first verse and the first chorus and I’m trying to keep it together on the second verse and I’m getting through it, and I’m like man, everybody just thinks I’m a terrible singer right now.”
“Like, I’m actually about to really start crying,” he continued. “And we get to the second course and I just lost it. Didn’t sing the whole second chorus, we just did one more chorus and I was like, that’s it. That’s enough. I can’t take it. The crowd was cheering. They were cheering, they were loving it.”
Luke shared a photo dump on Instagram from his time at the festival captioning it, “Remind me not to play “Whoever You Turn Out to Be” live again haha”
Nearly a month after deadly floods hit South-Central Texas, George Strait hosted a powerful benefit concert, Strait to the Heart, in Boerne, Texas. The intimate show, limited to just one thousand guests, raised over $6 million for families affected, especially those connected to Camp Mystic, which lost 27 campers and counselors.
The night was stacked with stars, including Riley Green, Wade Bowen, Randy Houser and Jamey Johnson, but it took an unforgettable turn when Garth Brooks surprised the crowd. He joined Strait on stage for a set of fan favorites. Two country legends, one small venue, and a big mission: helping Texans heal.

Congratulations go out to Hillary Scott and husband Chris Tyrrell. On July 25th, the Tyrrell family welcomed their fourth baby girl, Selah Jean.
People shared exclusive photos of the new addition, who joins 12-year-old big sister Eisele and 7-year-old twin sisters Betsy and Emory at the family’s Nashville home.
The name Selah means “pause” or “reflect,” and Jean means “God is gracious.”
There’s another Lady A baby due soon. Charles Kelley and his wife are expecting as well.
And in case you haven’t seen it, Luke Bryan got smacked in the face by an object while performing.
Stop. Throwing. Things. On. Stage.
