Dolly Parton Reassures Fans: “I’m Not Dying — I’m OK!” 💕
Dolly Parton is setting the record straight after rumors about her health began to spread online. The country music icon wants fans to know she’s not dying — and she appreciates all the prayers and love.
It all started after Dolly’s sister, Freida, asked fans to keep her in their prayers, sparking concern about the 79-year-old legend’s well-being. To calm fears, Dolly posted a video from the set of an upcoming Grand Ole Opry commercial, smiling and full of her trademark energy.
“I know lately everybody thinks that I am sicker than I am,” she said with a laugh. “Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here! Anyway, I wanted to put everybody’s mind at ease . . . and I appreciate your prayers because I’m a person of faith.”
Dolly went on to explain that while she hasn’t been feeling her best since her husband Carl’s passing, she’s still focused on her health and her work. “When Carl passed, I didn’t take care of myself,” she admitted. “So I let a lot of things go that I should have been taking care of.”
But make no mistake — the Queen of Country isn’t slowing down anytime soon. “There are just a lot of rumors flying around,” she added. “I don’t think God is through with me, and I ain’t done working. I love you for caring, and keep praying for me.”
A rep for Dolly confirmed that she’s doing fine and is simply waiting for a procedure related to kidney stones.
Freida also clarified her earlier post, saying she didn’t mean to alarm fans — just to send out some extra love for her big sister. “Thank you all for lifting her up,” she said. “Your love truly makes a difference.”
