Furry Friday brought to you by PetSuites Chesapeake and Lucky One Lemonade
If you’re looking for a four-legged adventure buddy, meet Zane. This one-year-old Retriever–Great Dane mix is full of energy, personality, and potential, and he’s currently available for adoption or foster at Norfolk Animal Care Center.
Zane came to the shelter after his previous family experienced housing issues. He suddenly found himself in a busy shelter environment that can be overwhelming for a young, active dog. After about a month at the shelter, Zane has begun to show signs of stress, which is common for high-energy dogs who need more space, exercise, and enrichment than a kennel can provide.
The good news is that Zane is incredibly smart and highly treat-motivated, which makes him a great candidate for training and learning new skills. With the right person, he has the potential to be an amazing companion for hikes, long walks, beach trips, and all kinds of outdoor fun.
If you’re not quite ready to adopt but want to help, there are still ways to give Zane a much-needed break from shelter life. You can take him out for a NACC Pack Adventure, giving him a few hours away from the shelter to explore, exercise, and relax. Or consider a NACC Slumber Pack, a 72-hour foster stay that allows dogs like Zane to decompress in a home environment while helping staff learn more about their personalities.
Sometimes, all a dog needs is a little time outside the shelter to show who they really are. Come meet Zane today! Adoption hours are Thursday-Tuesday 1:30 pm-6pm.
