Food Banks and Pantries
The Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore distributes food directly to our community through Mobile Pantries, 757 Mobile Markets, Food Hubs, and other initiatives.

Since opening its doors, Virginia Peninsula Foodbank’s Community Pantry, in partnership with Sentara Healthcare, has been serving neighbors with fresh, nourishing food and connections to vital health and wellness resources.
The Community Pantry provides nutritious food options that support individuals and families in managing health conditions and improving overall well-being. Conveniently connected to the Sentara Community Care Center, visitors can also access primary care, mental health care, and social support services, all in one location.

Local Business Support

Cooper’s Restaurant in Portsmouth will host a free spaghetti dinner on Monday, November 10, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., or until supplies run out. The event is open to anyone in need.

Free Pet Pantries
Many local animal shelters and rescues also offer free pet food pantries to help keep beloved pets in their homes because nobody should have to choose between feeding themselves and their pets.

How you can help:
Donate to your local food bank. Families and children are relying on food banks and community partners now more than ever.
Volunteer. Help sort and pack food, engage in community outreach or host your own food drive at your place of business, school or church.
