Morgan Wallen has unveiled the title track to his highly anticipated fourth studio album, I’m The Problem.
Who Wrote “I’m The Problem?”
The new tune was penned by Wallen alongside Ernest Keith Smith, Ryan Vojtesak, Grady Block and Jamie McLaughlin, and produced by Joey Moi and Charlie Handsome. His streak of somber relationship narratives continues with “I’m The Problem,” as the character at hand finds himself wrestling with the frustration of his other half constantly painting him as the bad guy.

Tired of being told time and time again that he’s at fault for any complications that arise, Wallen’s twangy vocals indicate that he’s don’t taking the fall. Instead, he flips the script as he comes to the realization that if he truly is the problematic one, her two-faced actions might be the cause of it all. The compelling storyline is set to a powerful arrangement of instrumentals including the metallic ring of keys, played by Dave Cohen, electric guitar, played by Tom Bukovac, and acoustic guitar, played by Bryan Sutton.
“You say I’ll never change/ I’m just a go around town with some gasoline/ Just tryin’ to bum a flame/ Gonna burn the whole place down/ How do you explain/ Ever fallin’ in love with a guy like me in the first place/ Then turn around say that I’m the worst thing,” the two-time 2025 GRAMMY nominee delivers on the opening verse.
He continues onto the chorus, “I guess I’m the problem/ And you’re miss never do no wrong/ If I’m so awful/ Then why’d you stick around this long/ And if it’s the whiskey/ Then why you keep on pullin’ it off the shelf/ You hate that when you look at me you halfway see yourself/ And it got me thinkin’/ If I’m the problem/ You might be the reason,” the two-time 2025 GRAMMY nominee delivers on the chorus.
“I’m The Problem” comes hot on the heels of Wallen’s two No. 1 singles that he’s already racked up ahead of the full-length release. His latest drop, “Smile,” reached No. 4 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart while “Love Somebody” recently became his 17th No. 1 at Country radio. Upon its release in October, the song debuted on 11 charts globally and became Wallen’s first solo song to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The early success led Wallen to become the first artist to have three singles each sit atop the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts simultaneously.
The upcoming project will follow Dangerous: The Double Album and One Thing At A Time, which landed No. 1 and No. 6 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums of the 21st Century, respectively. Wallen’s third studio album, One Thing At A Time, sat atop the Billboard 200 Albums chart for a historic 19 non-consecutive weeks, marking the most at No. 1 by a Country album. The collection also spawned seven No. 1 singles at Country radio.
