WATCH: Blake Shelton And Drake Milligan Unite On Stage For George Strait Cover

Emerging country singer Drake Milligan shared a very special on-stage moment with Blake Shelton over the weekend.

On Saturday, March 29, Milligan made his way to Fishers, IN to open for the superstar at the Fishers Event Center. He delivered his set as normal and believed that would be the end of his time on stage for the night. However, the “Texas” singer had other plans.

In a new post, the former America’s Got Talent contestant revealed that to his surprise, Shelton invited him up back on stage to help sing a rendition of the George Strait hit, “All My Ex’s Live In Texas.” While the song was released back in 1987, it remains a staple among country music lovers and is often covered during live performances much like this one.

Shelton had his arm around Milligan and encouraged the crowd to sing along with the rising star’s baritone vocals. Both artists had huge smiles on their faces as the twangy tune filled the room with a warm energy.

“All my exes live in Texas/ And Texas is a place I’d dearly love to be/ But all my exes live in Texas/ And that’s why I hang my hat in Tennessee,” they sang on the well-known chorus.

Milligan later reflected on the once-in-a-lifetime experience and shared gratitude towards Shelton for giving him the chance to put his talent on display in front of his fans.

He wrote, “Opened up for Blake Shelton for the first time this weekend and had no idea he was gonna pull me back out to sing some George Strait with him. Such a cool moment. Thanks for havin us, Blake!!”

Many fans took to the comment section to commend Milligan on his impromptu performance. Several stated that they are “so proud” to see his career to continue to soar since his time on America’s Got Talent, while others expressed jealousy over not being able to witness this moment in person.

This show marked Drake Milligan’s only date with Shelton in 2025, however he has plenty more headline shows and opening sets with artists like Luke Bryan and Lainey Wilson throughout the year.

He will continue his Jukebox Songs World Tour 2025 this week as he makes his way to Fort Smith, AR on April 4. The trek is named after the Texas native’s 2024 EP which features stand-out tracks like “Don’t Leave Me Loving You” and “I Got A Problem.”

Meanwhile, Shelton just wrapped up his Friends & Heroes Tour with special guests Craig Morgan, Deana Carter, Trace Adkins and Emily Ann Roberts. Fans are now eagerly awaiting the release of his just-announced album, For Recreational Use Only. The project will mark his debut under BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville and will arrive on May 9.
