It’s time to dive into all the great new Christmas movies coming to streaming services this holiday season. Here are a few that we’re really looking forward to:
1.The Man With the Bag (Amazon starting December 2nd): Arnold Schwarzenegger is Santa, but a scheming elf has stolen his magic bag of gifts. He enlists the help of Alan Ritchson, a thief on the naughty list, to get it back.
2. The 12 Dates of Christmas (Hulu starting Friday 11/6): In this remake of the 2011 classic, Lucy Hale reunites with Ian Ziering in a Groundhog Day-type scenario where she keeps reliving the holidays as a single woman while all her siblings beat her to the altar.
3. A Dog’s Perfect Christmas (Netflix now): This might be the most heartwarming flick of the bunch. Dennis Quaid is a grieving widower whose life gets more complicated when the mother of his granddaughter (Brooke Lena Johnson) falls ill. Enter a Corgi puppy, Ruby, and get out the tissues.
4. The Christmas Showdown 2 (HBO Max starting November 28th): April (Corbin Reid) and Chastity (Amber Stevens West) are now running an events-production company and have to outbid and outdo a national competitor to save their business and their town.
5. Guarding Stars (Netflix starting November 18th): Leighton Meester is a bodyguard protecting movie star Jared Padelecki, but things go predictably sideways when he asks her to pose as his girlfriend so his mother won’t worry so much.
6. The Gospel of Christmas (Netflix starting November 11th): In Tyler Perry’s latest, Tank Babbs is a New York City pastor who inherits a struggling church that is being threatened with demolition.
7. Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story (Hallmark now): Avery Clark (Lyndsy Fonseca) is an ambitious freelance journalist assigned to profile a football superfan. The catch: She doesn’t know the first thing about the game. So when the subject proposes that her grandson, Matt (Robert Buckley), show Avery the ropes, the couple go about experiencing all the best game day traditions. Soon Avery, who’s always on the move, begins to realize that maybe being rooted to a place—and a person—isn’t so bad.
8. The Christmas Switch (Netflix November 12): Felice Jankell and Happy Jankell star as two sisters, Mathilda and Freddie Stjärne, who couldn’t be more different. So it becomes a problem when they have to swap identities in the weeks leading up to Christmas. The movie is based on Eleonor Sager’s audiobook, Christmas in St. Anna.
9. Second Chance Holiday (ROKU now): Ayesha Curry plays Chelsey, a dating expert who has a knack for getting dumped every holiday season. Hoping to break her streak of bad luck, she heads home for the holidays. But when she reconnects with her high school sweetheart (played by Matthew Daddario), Chelsey begins to wonder if all those romantic missteps have been leading her back to her first love.
10. Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True (Hallmark November 28): As Lindsey (Lacey Chabert) heads to Walt Disney World with her extended family for the holidays, she never expects to run into Philip (Travis Van Winkle), the man she recently had a disastrous first date with! What’s worse, the two keep crossing paths throughout their vacations, leaving them with little choice but to spend time together. But will they discover they have more in common than they originally thought?
