New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is being credited with preventing a school shooting in Michigan. The star receiver who catches a lot of Tom Brady passes, helped authorities catch a teenager who threatened an attack last month. According to the New York Times, Edelman received a direct message on Instagram which read, “Dude, there is a kid in your comment section says he’s going to shoot up a school, I think you should alert the authority.” Edelman says he called his assistant who found the message that read, “I’m going to shoot my school up watch the news.” They called the police who were able to trace the message to a 14-year-old boy in Port Huron, Michigan. The teenager admitted to posting the threat and was found in possession of two rifles. He was arrested and is being held in juvenile detention.
