Relationships researcher John Gottman found that happier couples have “magic 5 hours” a week to keep their relationship going.
So there are 168 hours in a week which means you can maintain a happy, healthy relationship by devoting only about 4 percent of your time to it during the week. Ok I’m in.
Here’s what you do during those 5 magic hours:
Each morning take 1 minute to greet each other and say what you are excited about today.
When you get home from work take 10 minutes each to talk about your day
Spend 5 minutes each day admiring each other and giving compliments
Now spend 5 minutes showing affection
and finally spend 2 hours each week “dating” and getting to know each other’s interests again.
