Aldean Home for Sale: Jason Aldean and his wife, Brittany, are building their dream home, and they have put their current home on the market for the low, low price of just $7.8 million. Aldean has listed his 120-acre estate in the affluent rural community of Columbia, Tennessee, outside of Nashville. The imposing 8,900-square-foot mansion looks like a castle, with stone and exposed beams, with an actual turret in the front of the house. The house has 6 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms, and includes a bowling alley, wine cellar and more. There’s a creek and a large barn with horse stalls, as well as an outdoor grilling area.
WWE star Kane is now going by a new name — Mayor. The six-foot-eight, 300-pound wrestler, whose real name is Glenn Jacobs, is the new mayor of Knox County, Tennessee after he defeated Democrat Linda Haney by only 23 votes. The 51-year-old told his supporters last night, “This professional wrestler got into a no-holds-barred, last-man-standing match, and when the bell rung, he was victorious. We were victorious.” In Knox County, Tennessee, the title of Mayor really refers to the county administrator. The city of Knoxville has its own mayor. Jacobs ran on a platform calling for tax cuts and improvements to education and infrastructure. He’s not the first wrestler to become a politician. Jesse “The Body” Ventura served as governor of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003.
Ben Affleck will direct his pal Matt Damon in the upcoming drama about the true story of an ex-cop who rigged the McDonald’s Monopoly game in 2001 and stole millions of dollars. (Variety)
Rob Lowe has signed on to host the FOX competition series Mental Samurai. Variety says, “Each episode will see contestants battle to answer questions accurately with speed and precision on a specially designed course.” It will debut later this year.
Nick Cannon will host the FOX celebrity competition series The Masked Singer. Based on a South Korean show, it “features celebrities facing off against one another with one major twist: each singer is shrouded from head to toe in an elaborate costume.” The series debuts January.
INTERNET LOSES ITS MIND WHEN REESE WITHERSPOON CHUCKS ICE CREAM AT MERYL STREEP: She didn’t, social media shrieked in horror, when a photograph of Reese Witherspoon launching an ice cream cone at Meryl Streep went viral. Relax! It’s for HBO’s Big Little Lies. Witherspoon herself joined in the fun, telling a fan on Twitter: “I got her!” Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoe Kravitz will all return for Season 2 of Big Little Lies, set for a bow in 2019.
