Taylor Swift Reveals Her Mom’s Cancer Has Returned

Taylor Swift spoke up in a piece she wrote for Elle Magazine  “30 Things I Learned Before 30 list ”  about everything from bullying, her own body image issues and her parent’s health.

Taylor first revealed her mother’s diagnosis in April 2015 saying her mom encouraged her to share the news, “She wanted you to know because your parents may be too busy juggling everything they’ve got going on to go to the doctor, and maybe you reminding them to go get checked for cancer could possibly lead to an early diagnosis and an easier battle,” Swift said at the time, “Or peace of mind in knowing that they’re healthy and there’s nothing to worry about.”

Just a few weeks later at the ACM Awards her mom presented her with the Milestone Award in a touching moment

In the new article released today on Elle, she writes that both parents have had cancer, and her mom’s cancer has returned.  #24 on the list of 30 Things I Learned Before I Turned 30″ says:

I’ve had to learn how to handle serious illness in my family. Both of my parents have had cancer, and my mom is now fighting her battle with it again. It’s taught me that there are real problems and then there’s everything else. My mom’s cancer is a real problem. I used to be so anxious about daily ups and downs. I give all of my worry, stress, and prayers to real problems now.”

EVERY DAY I TRY TO REMIND MYSELF OF THE GOOD IN THE WORLD, THE LOVE I’VE WITNESSED AND THE FAITH I HAVE IN HUMANITY. WE HAVE TO LIVE BRAVELY IN ORDER TO TRULY FEEL ALIVE, AND THAT MEANS NOT BEING RULED BY OUR GREATEST FEARS.
