What are your thoughts when it comes to moving Halloween to the last Saturday in October?
I’ve got to be honest, I kind of like the idea. This coming from the guy who wakes up at 4 AM during the week. Wouldn’t the extra time make it easier to handle dinner, homework, getting dressed up, showering, and finally going to bed?
The Halloween and costume association created the poll last year and so far the poll has over one hundred thousand signatures asking to move the holiday to the last Saturday of the month.
The main reason for the consideration is child safety. Here’s how the Halloween and costume association breaks down Halloween by the numbers:
• 63 percent of children don’t carry a flashlight while they are tick-or-treating.
• Children are more than twice as likely to be hit by a car and killed on Halloween
• 65 percent of parents don’t discuss Halloween safety with their children
• 70 percent of parents don’t accompany their children trick-or-treating
By the way, Halloween falls on a Thursday this year.
In honor of Halloween, here’s a pic of the fam dressing up last year. We’ve already started thinking about this year’s costume.
