IT’S (almost) FALL!! -Georgia

Ah, my favorite time of the year; fall is (almost) upon us and I couldn’t be more excited! Call me basic, but it’s time for pumpkin everything–but not pie, I don’t like pie. It’s the time of year when I spend at least $5 a day on a Salted Caramel Mocha from Starbucks and the air is cool and crisp. It may be overrated but I don’t even care because it’s so good! I already purchased some new fall decor for my apartment and hung a berry wreath on my door. To solidify it, I even lit some pumpkin spice candles and my whole apartment smelled like heaven. Put simply, fall is the best time of the year.

I live for chunky scarves and knee high boots crunching on the fallen leaves; the warm cozy nights in with knit sweaters and fuzzy socks by the bonfire. The air is cool and the days occupied by day trips to nearby cideries and orchards. It’s a time for giving and thanks, celebrating each others, and most of all, Halloween! Halloween is my second favorite holiday (next to my birthday of course). Religion and tradition aside, this holiday is a fun excuse to dress up and party; a chance for people to pretend to be someone they’re not and nobody questions it. And we collect candy as a perk. Even adults should be allowed to Trick or Treat considering it’s the last bit of happiness we can enjoy in the midst of the craziness we call life.

So to the people who are annoyed with people like me already decorating for fall when it’s still 100 degrees outside can just mind their own business because Virginia doesn’t get to enjoy all four seasons in their own right, so we can make up our own timeline and I choose NOW to start enjoying fall.
