Does putting a pickle into a glass of light, cheap make it taste better?

We saw this #SpearInaBeer challenge going around and decided to try it out ourselves.
According to Joe McClure of McClure’s Pickles, this combo works so well because the vinegar and salt notes complement the flavors in beer perfectly. It’s basically the same reason you love having pretzels or French fries with a can of beer.
Most folks are trying it with PBR and Grillo pickles but we couldn’t find any so we went with good ‘ol Vlasic pickles. We also didn’t have a glass available so the office styrofoam cups had to do.
