I still can’t get over the fact that there are several plantation-style homes still standing in Hampton Roads. During Christmas break, I forced my children out of the house to explore Colonial Virginia. With COVID being dumb and shutting everything down, I had to find historical landmarks that allowed folks to walk the grounds, without going inside. My failed attempt before I landed at the Francis Land House was Fort Norfolk. Unfortunately, it’s closed because of COVID, but I’ll make sure to head back once things are back to normal.
The Francis Land House is located right off of Virginia Beach Blvd. It’s in the middle of a renovation and is kind of a mess, but it’s still pretty sweet. Check it out!
