Luke Bryan couldn’t be at the first live taping of American Idol on Monday after he tested positive for COVID-19 but that didn’t stop him from joining in from home.
Following the show, fellow judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie along with Paul Abdul, who filled in for Luke, talked with ET’s Lauren Zima and said that Luke was texting his thoughts on the show from home.
Perry joked, “He was texting us. He was blowing up our phones during the whole episode. Some of it we can’t even say…but he agreed with everything. He was just giving critiques at home. I guess, alone in his room.”
Good luck to the #Top16 as tonight it becomes the #Top12. I sure am going to miss being there in person. Tune in tonight at 8/7c to find out who makes it to the next round. #AmericanIdol
