Hampton Roads’ own Michael Cherry is moving on in the 400m finals in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The Chesapeake native won his heat Monday morning (August 2) with a time of 44.44 in the semifinals.

This is the first ever Olympics for the Oscar Smith High alum. He will now compete in the 400m finals on Thursday at 8 a.m. ET.
