Chesapeake Runner Michael Cherry Wins Heat in the 400m; Advances to Tokyo Olympics Final

Hampton Roads’ own Michael Cherry is moving on in the 400m finals in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The Chesapeake native won his heat Monday morning (August 2) with a time of 44.44 in the semifinals.

This is the first ever Olympics for the Oscar Smith High alum. He will now compete in the 400m finals on Thursday at 8 a.m. ET.
