This is my First Fall in Hampton Roads!

I am excited for my first fall season in Hampton Roads. I’m glad that I moved here in the month of July, so I still got to enjoy most of the summer at the beach. But now it’s time for a new season!

I feel like the central and western parts of Virginia are more well-known for celebrating fall. Places like Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway probably come to mind. But I’ve been pleasantly surprised to learn how many options there are to celebrate fall near Hampton Roads. Here are some things I’m hoping to do this season:

  •  Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens: I am kind of a scaredy cat when it comes to spooky things, so I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to do all of the haunted houses and attractions. But either way- I’m looking forward to all of the yummy fall food they will have!

  • The Suffolk Peanut FestivalI love going to fairs in the fall. I sadly missed the Isle of Wight County Fair, but I have heard from a few people that the Suffolk Peanut Festival is an equally fun fair experience.

  • Back Bay Brewing Co.’s FarmhouseThis brewery looks so charming! While it is open year round, the vibes of this place look absolutely perfect for a fall visit.

  • Walk on the Boardwalk: Since I moved here in July, it’s been SO hot and humid every time that I’ve been down at the Oceanfront. The Boardwalk is awesome, but man it can get hot out there during summer afternoons! Taking a fall stroll on the Boardwalk sounds very appealing!

I would love to hear your favorite Hampton Roads fall activities! Let’s make this the best season yet.
