Dom is a 2-Year-Old Who’s Been Waiting 9 Months Waiting to Find a Home

Dom is a 2-year-old big boy who is up for adoption at Portsmouth Humane Society.

He has been at the shelter for 9 months waiting for someone to take him home.

Dom had entropion surgery on his eyes recently to reverse inward rolling. He is feeling much better and the issue shouldn’t need to be addressed further.

He’s a good, easy-going dog who loves to play fetch with a tennis ball…but when play time is over, he’s happy to take a break and relax.

He does great with older kids and gets along with most dogs. He would need a meet and greet with another dog to ensure they will be BFFs. Because of his hefty size, we would recommend a home with children 6 years or over.

Right now PHS’ kennels are FULL! Through January 31st, all dog adoption fees are half-off…and Dom’s adoption fee is waived as one of the shelter’s longest residents.

Can’t adopt? PHS is looking for foster families to help make room in the shelter. Fostering also helps the shelter get to know the pet outside of the stressful kennel life. Learn more about fostering here: https://portsmouthhumanesociety.org/foster/

Want to do some shopping you can really feel good about? Proceeds from the PHS Shop benefit the homeless animals in our care! Items are printed locally by Tag, Ink in Norfolk. Our merch can be purchased at the shelter, 4022 Seaboard Court, during open hours without an appointment.

You can also view their Wish List for items currently in need at the shelter.

You can see learn more about Dom and all his friends right here.
