I just got home yesterday from the best 24 hour trip ever! I finally got to visit and stay at the iconic Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, WV. This historic property has been near the top of my travel bucket list for quite a long time! The hotel is one of the oldest in America. It was founded in 1778. The hotel was re-decorated by famous interior designer Dorothy Draper in the 1940s, and now all of the hotel rooms, restaurants and common spaces are decorated with so many bright colors and patterns in classic Dorothy Draper style. Every room is more marvelous than the next! My jaw dropped seeing a few of the gorgeous parts of the hotel.
It is not cheap to stay at the Greenbrier, but it can be done on more of a budget with proper planning. My friend Amanda and I stayed on a weeknight in the off-season, which saved us a lot of money and made it possible on my current travel budget! If you’d ever like to visit the Greenbrier, I highly recommend looking into off-season weeknight rates as well.
I took so many pictures during our brief stay! I narrowed it down to a few favorites- enjoy:
