Eric Church has been silent since he announced that he was canceling his show this weekend in San Antonio to attend the Final Four game instead.

The “Heart on Fire” singer responded today in a post on Twitter vowing to make it up to disappointed ticket holders.

He thanked fans for allowing him to spend the time with his family and promised to return for a free show on September 2nd in nearby New Braunfels.

Meanwhile, Bud Light offered free beer for the people of San Antonio on Saturday at 8:00 P.M, which is the exact day AND time the show was supposed to start.

The brand announced the news on Twitter saying:  “San Antonio country music fans.  We heard there was supposed to be a big event Saturday night that got cancelled.  Come get a round on us instead at the River Walk.”

People can get their free beers at six different places:  Elsewhere, Coyote Ugly, Madd Dogs British Pub, Michelinos, Smoke – River Walk, and Thirsty Aztec.
