Elle King and Miranda Lambert’s “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” has officially reached the top of the country charts.
The song took the No.1 spot on the Mediabase Country Airplay chart on Sunday (April 10) and this marks the first time a female duet has held the number one position since Reba McEntire and Linda Davis’ “Does He Love You” in 1993!
This marks Elle’s 2nd number 1 hit on country radio and Miranda’s 10th.
Miranda took to Twitter to thank Reba and Linda for paving the way, along with her duet partner.
And the fact that a duet by 2 women hasn’t been #1 in country music since 1993 is crazy to me. So the fact that we got here today means even more because it’s bigger than us. Thanks @Reba & Linda for paving the way. Now let’s get drunk and not wanna go home! @ElleKingMusic pic.twitter.com/Ez5AORI9SR
