National Volunteer Week: Local Organizations Seek Help in Hampton Roads

It’s National Volunteer Week, (April 17 through April 23), and organizations across the country are celebrating the community members that volunteer their time and give back.

Looking to give back in Hampton Roads?  Here are some local organizations that are seeking more volunteers.

The Norfolk Animal Care & Adoption Center (NACC) is actively recruiting volunteers to show their love for animals by donating their time. Enrich the lives of adoptable pets and people every day. Volunteer now!

Benefits of Volunteering: For many animals, the next chapter in their life is a direct result of the contributions of our volunteers. Volunteering is not only rewarding, it’s a great way of giving back to the animals who give so much to us. This also includes:

  • Increased satisfaction from making a difference in the lives of homeless (shelter) animals.

  • Strong ties to our community of fellow animal lovers.

  • Deeper understanding of animal care and behavior.

  • Reduced stress levels for volunteers and shelter animals alike.
