Darius Rucker to Star in New Design Network Show; “Rucker’s Reno”

Darius Rucker is getting into the renovation business. The country singer will star in “Rucker’s Reno,” a new Design Network show that follows Darius as he returns to his hometown of Charleston, S.C. to renovate a historic mansion that is currently a vacant city landmark.

“I’m a guy who likes stories, and I can’t wait to tell this one,” Rucker says in a trailer for the show. “… I think this house is gonna be really inspirational, because of where it is, because of what it is, knowing who built it.”

Darius turns a vacant city landmark, which was built by slaves in 1803, into a modern treasure for his family to enjoy. The country singer told Architectural Digest, “To take something that was once a painful reminder of that history and then turn it into someplace that people who look like me can be really proud of—that’s what this project was all about.”

“It’s always an honor when I get to showcase my hometown of Charleston to the world, and I’m thankful to The Design Network for such a great platform to do just that,” Darius Rucker told his record label. “The team on this project was so talented and made it such a fun, creative process from start to finish. I can’t wait for everyone to see the transformation!”

The entire new six-part series from The Design Network is available early to viewers now on Samsung TV Plus, Samsung’s free video streaming platform, before rolling out to other services on May 30th.
