The ceremony’s livestream quickly began trending on Twitter with fans tuning in to watch Taylor’s speech.

Taylor told the graduating class, “I’d like to thank NYU for making me technically, on paper at least, a doctor.”

“Not the type of doctor you want around in case of an emergency,” she joked. “Unless you’re specific emergency was that you desperately needed to hear a song with a catchy hook and an intensely cathartic bridge session.  Or if your emergency is that you need a person that can name over 50 breeds of cats in one minute.”

“I hope you know how proud I am to share this day with you.  We’re doing this together so let’s just keep dancing like we’re the Class of ’22,” she concluded her speech.
