Blake Shelton spent Memorial Day weekend serving as the Grand Marshall of the Indy 500.
The country singer took his duties seriously telling the audience, “It’s an honor to be here, everybody. I don’t know about y’all, but I can’t take it anymore. Drivers, to your cars!”

Blake also helped design Jimmie Johnson’s helmet for the race. According to PEOPLE, the “Helmet of Heroes” honors Johnson’s grandparents who served in the Korean War and WWII and Shelton’s late father who served in the honor guard in Korea just after the Korean War, and his brother was in the Army.
