Dog Recovering After Being Hit By Car Has Been Awaiting Adoption at Local Shelter Over a Year

I went to visit the animals up for adoption this week at Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center.

Stephanie with King

King has been at the shelter for over a year waiting for someone to take him home! He is between 2-4 years old, 62 pounds, house-trained, and very playful.

He loves comfy beds & good snacks, chasing tennis balls, and rolling in the grass! He was brought after being hit by a car. He had a leg fracture and his owners surrendered him. The shelter was able to take care of all of his medical needs. He is now healthy (although he does walk with a bit of a gait) and ready to find his forever home.

King loves everybody he meets…except for other dogs. So he needs to be the only dog in the home. He’s a big boy and would be best with older kids. He prefers his own yard with it comes to pottying versus on a leash walking around the neighborhood.

All adoptions are just $14 during the month of February. Call VBACAC at 757.385.4444 to make an appointment to meet him!

found it!

I couldn’t resist visiting the cats up for adoption while I was there and met an 11-year-old cat who has been stressed since he was surrendered by his owners but perked right up with a little petting!
