Ed Sheeran may join the ranks of pop stars like Darius Rucker going country. In an interview with “Billboard“ during ACM rehearsals he shared, “I talk about this to my wife all the time. I would love to transition to country. I love the culture of it . . . I just love the songwriting. It’s just like brilliant songs.”

Ed lived in Nashville in 2013 and 2018 and shared, “It’s like a community. There’s not a place in Europe where you could point and say, ‘That’s the home of songwriting.’ Nashville is a hub of incredible songwriters, incredible performers. I really feel inspired being around everyone.”
He credits Taylor Swift with introducing him to the genre. “It was only being on Taylor’s Red tour and living in Nashville and her basically introducing me to that side of it,” he told the outlet.
Now he says he listens daily. “There’s a radio station in England called [CountryLine Radio] that me and my wife have on all day, every day in the kitchen.”
Ed performed his song “Life Goes On” on the ACM Awards where he was joined by Luke Combs. The pair recorded a special version of the duet that was released following the broadcast.
