Blake Shelton Won’t Perform on The Voice This Season, Here’s Why

Blake Shelton is getting ready to say goodbye to The Voice.  The country singer is hanging up his hat as a coach after 24 seasons and this will be the first season that he does not perform on the show.

Speaking to E! News, he shared that he wanted to be able to sit back and enjoy the show.

“I’ve never really been good at, like, taking in the moment while it’s happening,” he told the outlet. “And so I’m trying to do that. Gwen and I talk about that a lot. She’s like, ‘Just try to take it in.’ And we both struggle with that, whenever something cool is happening.”

Another country superstar will take Blake’s place for Season 25…Reba McEntire! Blake told the outlet that Reba was the original coach the show wanted and that it was “meant to be.”
