Zac Brown Band’s John Driskell Hopkins gave fans a health update following his ALS diagnosis.
The singer revealed last year that he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
“In some ways, the last year hasn’t been different at all,” he shared in an interview with CMT. “I have progressed very slowly, and I’m noticing things other people don’t notice.”
“There are so many people that this affects very quickly, and I’m very blessed to not be one of them so far,” he added.
Hopkins created his Hop On A Cure Foundation last year and since its founding, the non-profit has raised $1 million and distributed $300,000 in grants.
John is proof that ALS can affect anyone, at any age. Last week 6000 flags were placed on the National Mall representing the more than 6000 people diagnosed each year with ALS. Please join our journey to find an end to this disease. https://t.co/gc34MPQHt5 pic.twitter.com/9mIGwA98NF
