Hailey Whitters appeared on CMT’s Hot 20 countdown recently and host Cody Alan asked the singer to share the story behind the unique marriage proposal from her then-boyfriend, music executive Jake Gear.
“I remember he asked me, ‘Do you want a ring or a record?’ Hailey recalls. “And I said, ‘I want a record, let’s see if we can do that first.’ And so we went and made a record.”
The album is “Living the Dream” and features her debut hit single, “Everything She Ain’t.”
