Thanksgiving is approaching and local organizations have made it their mission to provide free meals to community members in need.  Get a list below of churches, restaurants, and organizations offering free meals this holiday season.

CHESAPEAKE:

Buffalow Family & Friends, located at 2307 Bainbridge Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23324.  The Food Pantry and Community Kitchen is open Monday through Friday, 10 am to 3 pm. For questions or to make donations contact (757) 739-5222.

HAMPTON:

Fertitta’s: Thanksgiving Day – 10 am to 1 pm. All those who don’t have a Thanksgiving dinner and Military are welcome. Must be present to receive a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to-go. Volunteers wishing to donate or cook a Turkey please contact Fertitta’s at 757-723-9939.

NORFOLK:

The LGBT Life Center offers Thanksgiving Baskets to clients and anyone in need of additional pantry support for Thanksgiving. Last year, the organization fed 1,429 individuals in Hampton Roads! Interested in receiving a Thanksgiving Basket? Complete this form.

Norfolk Naval Station: Military members only. NNSY MWR Liberty is hosting a free Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, November 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. while supplies last at the Mariners Reef Liberty Center. There will be a football game playing on the big screen as well as ping pong or pool tournaments to participate in. This event is open to single Sailors, E-1 to E-6 only.  For more information, please call 757-396-2451.

PORTSMOUTH:

Military members only. Celebrate Thanksgiving with NSA HR – Portsmouth MWR Liberty on Wednesday, November 22. Join us for a Thanksgiving lunch at River’s Edge Community Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. while supplies last. Lunch will be free and include all your favorites!
