Megan Moroney finally addressed the rumors about her relationship with Morgan Wallen, and it turns out they did date.
“I have tried to avoid [this topic] in every single interview I’ve ever done,” Moroney, 26, revealed during the Wednesday, July 31 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “We’re here now, and time has passed, and all is well.”
“It was never a relationship. Here’s what I’ll tell you, though, because I haven’t told anyone this ever,” the singer shared with host Alex Cooper. “We were friends for a long time. We were not just friends. And now we’re friends.”
Moroney emphasized that she and Wallen were “never officially dating” but stressed that they are “friends” now. “Because he’s such a private person, it just feels, like, awkward talking about it.”
As for whether “Tennessee Orange” is about Wallen, the mystery remains. She added, “I will not say who my songs are about, ever. Will never name.”
