Morgan Wallen Performs ‘I’m The Problem’ and ‘Just In Case’ On ‘Saturday Night Live’

Morgan Wallen made his highly anticipated return to NBC’s Saturday Night Live, taking the stage for the live debut of two new tracks, “I’m The Problem” and “Just In Case.”

“I’m The Problem”

Guest host Mikey Madison introduced Morgan Wallen for a performance of “I’m The Problem.” The country superstar took the iconic 30 Rock stage wearing a Canadian tuxedo and a Field & Stream hat, accompanied by his band. The set was styled to resemble an investigation board, similar to those often seen in crime shows. Red strings connected different points on the board, which was covered in images of Wallen, tour posters, tickets, mugshots, concert posters, and more.

“I’m The Problem” is the title track off Wallen’s eagerly awaited new album, which is set to arrive on May 16. The song was written by Wallen with Ernest Keith Smith, Ryan Vojtesak, Grady Block and Jamie McLaughlin. This already fan-favorite track finds Wallen struggling with the frustration of always being cast as the villain by his other half.

He flips the script in the chorus, with the line, “If I’m the problem/ You might be the reason…””

“Just In Case”

Later in the show, the East Tennessee native returned to the stage to deliver a performance of “Just In Case.”  Written by Wallen, John Byron, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Ryan Vojtesak, Josh Thompson, Blake Pendergrass and Alex Bak, “Just In Case” goes deep, revealing that he finds himself holding back from fully falling in love with someone new, hoping his ex will realize she wants him back.

During this performance, Wallen shocked fans by revealing the titles of several tracks off his upcoming 37-song album. On the retro television behind him, fans noticed that song titles appeared throughout the performance like “2. I Got Better, 4. What I Want, 8. Skoal, Chevy, and Browning, 14. Where’d That Girl Go,” and more. Although this is only a partial track list, it has definitely sparked even more excitement among Wallen’s fans for the upcoming album.

This marked Morgan Wallen’s second appearance on the iconic late night show, following his debut in December 2020 when he performed “7 Summers and “Still Goin Down.” This performance received quite a bit of media attention as it had to be rescheduled after Wallen broke COVID protocols in the days leading up to the show.

He apologized for his actions and wound up starring in a skit alongside Jason Bateman where they poked fun as his rule-breaking ways.

As fans count down to the release of I’m The Problem, they are also awaiting Wallen’s return to the road. First, he’ll take the stage at his inaugural Sand In My Boots Festival and weeks later, he will launch his I’m The Problem Tour.

He will be joined by a rotating star-studded lineup of established acts including Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett and Koe along with rising stars like Gavin Adcock, Corey Kent, Ella Langley, Anne Wilson and more.
