Hudson Westbrook Turns Heartfelt Lyrics Into A Viral Hit With New Song, ‘Sober’

Hudson Westbrook is back with another irresistible track titled “Sober.” The new release has sparked an immediate and powerful reaction from fans on social media, quickly climbing the charts. It is currently trending at No. 8 on the Viral 50 TikTok Music Charts, with Westbrook’s heartfelt vocals and clever storytelling serving as the soundtrack to over 30k videos on the social media platform.

“Y’all have been loving this one from the first time I posted about it. Now you can go stream it,” he wrote on Instagram, announcing the song’s release.

Written by the rising Texas star alongside Lukas Scott, Neil Medley, and Beau Bailey, the anthem explores the intense pull of a fresh love, comparing it to the effect of a strong drink that doesn’t leave him with the pain of a hangover or next-day regrets.

He sings, “Started with hello darlin’/ Ended with don’t go darlin’/ What you put in those eyes/ Don’t say it ain’t nothing/ You had me stumbling/ Had to be something.”

Instead, he uses his swoon-worthy vocals and mid-tempo tune to depict the electrifying feelings brought on by the girl in front of him.

“I was in love last night/ Better than a bourbon high/ That sundress was spinning me out of my mind/ Turning me on one kiss at a time/ I was hanging on/ Never had something that hit me so strong/ All of the buzzin’ and none of the hangover / My hearts on a bender I’ll never be sober,” Westbrook delivers on the chorus.

The accompanying video also released today, was directed by frequent creative collaborator Emma Kate Golden. The footage captures Westbrook making his way through a thrift store, exploring the old records and books as the rush of a crush occupies his mind.
