Jordan Davis Shares Preview Of Next Release, ‘Learn the Hard Way’

Lately, Jordan Davis has been on a hot streak of dropping tunes that have quickly turned into fan-favorites, and he might just have another one on the way. In a new Instagram post, the country star reveals he has a new song titled “Learn The Hard Way” dropping this Friday, April 25.

The post featured a carousel of new images that capture the honest nature of the mid-tempo heartbreak tune. In between those photos is the cover art, which captures Davis walking out on a dock with a fishing pole in hand on a clear, blue skies kind of day.

“Think it’s about time I share some more of what we’ve been working on… My new song, Learn The Hard Way, will be out on Friday,” he wrote in the caption.

Davis has been teasing snippets of the new tune throughout the past week, leaving fans begging for a release date. Today’s news is accompanied by another preview that gives listeners a clearer picture of the story he’s portraying.

The Louisiana native’s signature vocals bring warmth and comfort to a delicate instrumental backdrop, as he flips the script and faces heartbreak for once. This time, instead of being the one to break the heart, like his character usually does, he getting left with the pain of someone else leaving.

I bet you bat a thousand/ At hitting where it hurts and getting gone first/ Aint no easy way around it/ I’m bought to get a taste of my own damn medicine,” he sings with full honestly before admitting, “Never known the broke side of a heartbreak / but I’d say I’m about to learn the hard way.”

He encouraged fans to download his official app to get an exclusive first listen to the song. Plus, he will be hosting a livestream on Friday to celebrate his newest release.

“Learn The Hard Way” follows closely behind Davis’ current single, “Bar None.” The upbeat tune finds the award-winning singer/songwriter once again trying to navigate the rollercoaster of emotions that comes with love. Within the lyrics, he explains that he believes he just lost the best thing I ever had,” and is now left to face a pain that isn’t easy to shake.

In an attempt to pull himself out of his lowest point, he ends up in a bar and comes to the realization that if moving on were a game, he’d be losing one to nothing.

Produced by Paul DiGiovanni and written by Hunter Phelps, Lydia Vaughn, and Ben Johns, “Bar None” follows his latest chart-topping single, “I Ain’t Sayin’,” which recently rose to the No. 1 spot in the US and UK.

All of his recent rereleases, including “Know You Like That,” are set to appear on the soon-to-be dad of four’s highly anticipated next album expected to drop later year.
