After being affected by others’ opinions on social media for years, Kelsea Ballerini has made changes to how she engages with platforms. She now seeks a healthier balance by adjusting her online presence and has given up using platforms like X (Twitter) and Reddit.
“I got rid of Twitter a long time ago. That was helpful. Twitter kicked my ass,” Ballerini told People for her cover story. “So Twitter’s been gone for a long time.”

Ballerini touched on her decision to part ways with Twitter in her 2022 song “Doin’ My Best” where she declared, “And Twitter kicked my ass, now it’s one less app on my iPhone.”
Another app that the East Tennessee native has vowed to stay away from is Reddit.
“I discovered Reddit. I went through a very toxic phase with that, but it was when my life was a bit chaotic,” she revealed. “Then I was like, ‘We need to have some boundaries.’ So that’s no longer.”

These minor changes have led Ballerini to focus her attention on just two social media apps.
“I really just keep up with TikTok and Instagram, and even that feels like too much, but I’m not sure how to not because I’m a people pleaser, and I like the feedback,” she said. “I think my intention is because I like feedback and I like to edit set lists, or we’re tweaking things on the tour because I’m seeing stuff on TikTok. But yeah, I’m a girl. I’m sensitive. I’m an artist. If I see a mean comment, it affects me.”
With this in mind, Ballerini has been intentional about going to therapy.

“My therapist told me a while ago, ‘Kelsea, you need to care more about less,’” she shared, adding, “Although I still care about that feedback, I don’t give it the gravity that I used to.”
Kelsea Ballerini is currently in the midst of her biggest tour yet – KELSEA BALLERINI LIVE ON TOUR 2025. This trek is bringing her magical live show to arenas across the country for the first time ever and is set to wrap up on April 13 in Toronto.
“We’re now down to single digits of shows left on this tour. Every second has felt like a fever dream,” she recently shared on Instagram.

Amid the tour, Ballerini released PATTERNS (DELUXE), an expanded version of her 2024 album. This release features five new tracks, including the fan-favorite, “To The Men That Love Women After Heartbreak.”
Recently, Ballerini earned a handful of ACM Awards nominations, including her first-ever Entertainer of the Year nod. She also scored nominations for Female Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for “Cowboys Cry Too.”
As the tour wraps, fans can catch Ballerini as a coach on season 27 of The Voice.
