Lady A’s Charles Kelley and his wife, Cassie, are expecting their second child!
The couple shared the exciting news early Tuesday morning in a joint post on Instagram.
“Biggest surprise of our lives! Baby Kelley coming early fall 2025,” the caption reads. “Big brother is the MOST excited.”
The news was shared alongside stunning family photos captured by Mary Craven Photography. The images show the happy couple, Cassie’s growing baby bump, and sweet snapshots of Cassie and Charles with their 9-year-old son, Ward.
The announcement comes on the heels of the announcement of Charles Kelley’s new single announcement. He revealed plans to release his brand new song, “Can’t Lose You,” as well as a cover of The Killers’ “Here With Me.”
“It’s been a long time coming, can’t wait for you to hear these,” he shared.
Charles and Cassie met through his bandmate Hillary Scott, who suggested they attend a group dinner together. Cassie’s sister was dating Lady A’s keyboard player at the time, so she joined her for the night.
There was a large group at the dinner, but Charles only had eyes for one person: Cassie.
“We’re kind of looking at each other, and we’re like, Holy moly,’” the singer previously recalled. “She’s the prettiest girl that had ever paid me any attention. It was one of those things where we just started all as a big group going bar-hopping, and we never left each other’s side. We just started talking. Every bar we went to, it was like us going into the corner talking. It was just love at first sight.”
He wasted no time. He called her the very next day and the rest is history.
Kelley proposed in December of 2008 and the couple said “I do” on a beach in the Bahamas on July 6, 2009.
In 2015, they announced that they were expecting their first child and revealed that they had faced fertility issues for two years.
“When you’re young and healthy and you’re ready to start a family you just don’t envision there will be any problems doing that,” Cassie shared with ABC News. She also revealed that their doctor gave them only a one percent chance of conceiving a child without in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Despite the odds, Cassie and Charles “never stopped hoping.” Just before they were set to begin the IVF process, they conceived naturally.
She gave birth to Ward Charles on February 11, 2016.
