In honor of National Bell Bottoms Day (April 5), the queen of bell bottoms herself, Lainey Wilson, has released her latest party anthem, “Bell Bottoms Up.”
The CMA and ACM Award-winning artist co-wrote the high-energy tune with her bandmates and recorded it at London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios, which she name-drops right at the top of the song: “Me and the boys, Abbey Road Studios / Take 573.”
Giving a nod to her signature style, the new track captures everything fans love about Wilson, highlighting her bold, fun, and unmistakably authentic sound. It’s packed with punchy lyrics and a boot-stompin’ beat, allowing Wilson to channel her rowdy, retro spirit that invites fans to let loose and embrace their uniqueness.
“I’m a homegrown, roll your own, light it up life of the party/ Yeah I’m a last call, wrecking ball, I’m tellin’ y’all I’m just gettin’ started/ I’m fillin’ up these jeans like I do my cup/ Throwback, throw down, bell bottoms up,” Wilson delivers on the electric chorus.
This song further proves that bell bottoms are more than just a style of pants, they’re a symbol of confidence and the freedom to express yourself. Throughout the remainder of the lyrics, listeners hear Wilson embrace her inner wild side, showcasing she’s not afraid to “put the raise in hell” and “Run the train off the tracks” every so often.
“Bell Bottoms Up” shares its name with the “4x4xU” singer’s Nashville bar, which opened its doors last May, just in time for CMA Fest to take over the downtown area. The 27,000-square-foot venue is located at 120 Third Avenue South, which is the previous home of Florida Georgia Line’s FGL House.
Fans can find Wilson’s signature flair throughout every inch of the three-story venue that features two stages with four bars, a lounge space on the mezzanine level called Neon Diamonds and an epic rooftop space.
The GRAMMY award winning artist made sure to honor her roots by bringing a bit of Louisiana to Nashville with Cajun-inspired bites, entrees, and bar food. Plus, the establishment sits right next door is Bayou Keys, Nashville’s newest dueling piano bar, which also pays tribute to Wilson’s heritage as New Orleans is home to the first dueling piano bar.
Lainey Wilson’s latest release follows her most recent No. 1 party, where she celebrated her latest chart-topping hits, “Wildflowers And Wild Horses” and “4X4XU.” The special event was hosted by BMI and took place at the historic Bradley’s Barn in Mt. Juliet, Tenn.
“Bell Bottoms Up” has already become a fan-favorite during Wilson’s latest string of live shows. She will continue to celebrate her catalog of hits on the road when she launches the U.S. leg of her Whirlwind World Tour later this year. Following a slew of summer festival dates, the trek will return on August 14 and run through November.
Joining Wilson on the tour are special guests Ernest and Muscadine Bloodline as well as Zach Meadows, Lauren Watkins, Drake Milligan, Maddox Batson and Kaitlin Butts.
