Lauren Alaina may be pregnant and happily married, but she is channeling an entirely different kind of energy in her feisty new release, “Household.”
The unapologetic track finds the standout vocalist questioning, “How much Hell can a house hold” as she details what appears to be an extremely toxic relationship filled with fights, secrets,, lies, alcohol abuse, and more.
Alaina struggles with the expectations of being a traditional housewife and does her best to hold things together, but it’s evident she’s on the verge of breaking.

“House, hold it togethеr/ Diamond ring around the rosie forever/ That’s what good girls do/ Yeah, that’s what I’ve been told/ I ain’t a Barbie doll, he ain’t no Ken/ These four walls about to cave in/ Home sweet home never felt so cold/ How much hell can a house hold?” she sings on the chorus.
The soon-to-be mom co-wrote the song with Casey Brown, Lydia Vaughan, and Parker Welling and said she enjoyed getting into character while in the writing room.
“‘Household’ is the perfect blend of southern grit and sass,” Alaina shared. “We have all been in a ‘how much hell can house hold’ scenario. I wrote this song after listening to one of my best friends vent about her relationship. It may not reflect my own marriage, but I think it showcases my personality flawlessly.”
Produced by Joey Moi, the song channels the rebellious energy of Miranda Lambert’s early releases, blending fiery attitude with clever, catchy lyrics.
“Household” follows the release of Alaina’s heartfelt “Those Kind Of Women.” This song showcases a totally different side of her personality and is destined to be a radio hit. Already a fan favorite during her tour with Rascal Flatts, it’s evident that “Household” is a standout track.

These tracks are expected to land on Alaina’s forthcoming new album, which is still in the works. She previously teased that she is leaning into her country roots on the project and that she plans to release a lot of new music ahead of the official project.
“We’re still recording, and we have new songs,” she shared during an appearance on the Amazon Music Podcast, Country Heat Weekly. “This year, basically, the plan is to release a ton of music. We don’t have a target date specifically for the full-length album, but we have a lot of things coming up in the meantime leading up to that.”
Lauren Alaina is expected to welcome her baby girl on May 29 and fans can catch her touring with Rascal Flatts until then.
