Between his five ACM nominations including one win and the success of his fast-rising track “Worst Way,” Riley Green certainly has a lot to celebrate right now.
While backstage of the 60th ACM Awards with Country Now, the Alabama native took a moment to reflect on the major accomplishments he’s been racking up lately before making an appearance at the elite show on Thursday, May 8.
Surprise Announcement From Reba McEntire
His latest feat was announced over the weekend, while performing at Country Thunder Florida. He and duet partner Ella Langley delivered their own sets at the festival and then came together to sing “You Look Like You Love Me.”
Following their performance, they were surprised with the news that they had won in the category of Visual Media of the year for their chart-topping hit. Reba McEntire appeared on the big screen at the back of the stage and shared the news with Green, Langley and the rest of the festival-goers.
Four Additional Nominations
Following this win, Green is heading into the ACM Awards with four remaining nods for “you look like you love me.” The pair also landed nominations in the categories of Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Music Event of the Year.
“Well, to be honest, I’m the most excited about the one I already won,” Green admitted. “Reba told everybody they were on the big screen in my show in Tampa and just told everybody at the same…If she tells you anything its awesome.”
Along with his recent win, Green has had the pleasure of watching his streamy tune, “Worst Way” climb up the charts, and claiming the title of his fastest growing single to date.
“It’s crazy. It’s literally been like a rocket ship since we put that song out and it’s been so cool to see a song that fans are really…it raised its hand. It became a platinum record and then went to radio. Now it’s in the top 10. It’s one of the biggest moments of my show,” he shared.
“Worst Way” Music Video Surpasses 10 Million Views
The highly talked about music video has seen just as much success as it recently surpassed 10 million views on YouTube.
“I don’t know that many people. That’s a lot,” Riley Green joked. “It’s been awesome to see that song become such a hit and obviously the music video has done really well and it was a lot of fun to make.”
Set To Present At ACM Awards
The hitmaker has not been announced as a performer for the 60th ACM Awards taking place the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, the world headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys.
