Tucker Wetmore is walking into the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards a first-time nominee and to make the night even more special, he’s bringing someone along who’s been with him since the very beginning—his mom.
While reflecting on this milestone night, the rising star told Country Now that it “means the world to me in a lot of ways” to get to celebrate alongside such an important figure in his life. He admits his mom has been a hug supporter since day one, and even credits her for being the reason he decided to pursue music in the first place.
“I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her. She’s the one that pushed me to do music to kind of chase this dream that I had and she’s one of the best women I’ve ever met in my life. She’s like my best friend and so it’s going to be really cool,” he told Country Now.
Wetmore Shares A Glimpse Into Their Red-Carpet Looks
Wetmore revealed that he is planning to wear a gray suit while his mom is going to rock a black dress with a few stylish accessories from Kendra Scott to complete the look.
“I think she went and got a pedicure or something like that. I took her to Kendra Scott this morning,” he shared. “We did a thing with Kendra Scott for Mother’s Day and for the ACM Awards and so she’ll be decked out in some jewelry.”
This mother-son red carpet moment comes at the perfect time as Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than a night at the 60th ACM Awards, where the “Brunette” singer is nominated for his first-ever ACM Award.
Reflecting On First ACM Nomination
He was recognized in the category of New Male Artist of the Year alongside Bailey Zimmerman, Gavin Adcock, Shaboozy, and Zach Top who has already been announced the winner of the category.
“That’s pretty wild. I remember when I first found out, I was just mind blown and I’m still mind- blown that I’m here and this is my first time here and my first time being here nominated. It is pretty cool,” he admitted about his latest honor.
Wetmore To Headline ACM Country Kickoff Event
Before making his way into the star-studded event with his mom by his side, Tucker Wetmore will make several appearances, starting on tonight when he headlines the ACM Country Kickoff event at The Star in Frisco, TX.
“It’s going to be fun,” he said of the upcoming performance. “It’s going to be a little shorter than what we’re used to, but yeah, it is going to be a good time. It’s going to be high energy. We get to go up there and rock out for a little bit.”
Additionally, on Wednesday May 7, he will take part in the Opry NextStage Live showcase, hosted by Jelly Roll. The event is set to feature performances from Opry NextStage Class of 2025 members as well as special guest, Riley Green.
With the big celebration being just a few days away, the country music fans are eager to tune in to see all the performances, surprise moments and acceptance speeches.

The night will kick off with a must-see tribute to ACM Songs of the Year from the past six decades, featuring performances by Clint Black, Dan + Shay, Wynonna Judd, Reba McEntire, LeAnn Rimes, and Sugarland.
