Watch Russell Dickerson Dance With Savannah Bananas To Summertime Anthem, ‘Happen To Me’

Russell Dickerson found himself at the heart of the action during the Savannah Bananas game at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, S.C., on April 26. With a record-breaking 81,000 fans in attendance, the country star delivered his viral single, “Happen To Me.”

The fun-filled event began with Clemson football head coach Dabo Swinney leading the team’s run down the hill to the stadium. Once inside, the celebrity appearances continued throughout the evening with Dickerson and former Clemson running back C.J. Spiller.

Dickerson fit right in with the team, who’s become known for their dancing abilities on the field. He donned his very own yellow Savannah Bananas while singing the song that’s expected to continue heating up stages all summer long. Mid-way through the performance, he stopped at the pitcher’s mound to dance alongside a few players, raising the energy among the crowd for the remainder of the game.

When he wasn’t singing his heart out, the Tennessee native got to watch the intense game unfold alongside his wife, Kailey, who was also sporting a jersey with the same number as her hubby. At the end of the night the Bananas took home the win, breaking a six-game losing streak.

Dickerson later celebrated the unique performance opportunity with a video that was taken before fans filled the football stadium. He, along with the Bananas and their team mascot, got together on the field to film themselves doing the viral dance trend paired with “Happen To Me,” proving once again that their talents go far beyond baseball.

They quickly picked up the dance moves, joining the thousands of fans all over social media who have been singing along to the chorus that pays tribute to Cyndi Lauper’s iconic “Girls Just Want To Have Fun.”

Dickerson captioned the post, “80,000 of yall + Happen To Me + @thesavbananas. The recipe for the best night of your life.👨🏻‍🍳

“Happen To Me,” also known as the party anthem of the summer, gained tremendous traction online, earning over 25 million views across social media, and continued to rise in popularity with its release. It was then officially sent to country radio with 66 total station adds on March 10.

The multi-Platinum artist racked up the largest number of streams in Triple Tigers Records’ label history, thanks to the success of this tune.

Written by Dickerson, Chase McGill, Jessie Jo Dillon and Chris LaCorte, “Happen To Me” illustrates a night out between a couple of strangers who finds a cure for heartache with some no-strings-attached fun. It perfectly blends Dickerson’s signature pop country sound with an electrifying beat and sing-along worthy lyrics.

Russell Dickerson is currently preparing to embark on the second leg of his RUSSELLMANIA TOUR 2025. Round 2 of the trek is set to bring the hitmaker to amphitheaters across the summer, with direct support from Jake Scott and Niko Moon on select dates. He will then continue the fun with the launch Round 3 in the fall.
