The Showtime movie channel has picked up an eight-episode limited series about disgraced Fox News founder ROGER AILES. TV Line reports Oscar winner RUSSELL CROWE will star as Ailes in the series, which will be based on GABRIEL SHERMAN’s article in New York magazine and his book, “The Loudest Voice in the Room.”
Sean Spicer is looking to become the next Oprah. The former White House Press Secretary will shoot a pilot for a TV talk show called Sean Spicer’s Common Ground in July. No network is yet attached to the show, which will see Spicer interview noteworthy people.
Looks like EWAN McGREGOR may be back as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the upcoming “Star Wars 9” film. Last week, Lucasfilm announced that the studio had put all of the upcoming “Star Wars” anthology films aside for the time being, which included the Obi-Wan film. However, the London Sun has reported that Ewan will be secretly filming scenes for the upcoming J.J. ABRAMS-directed “Star Wars 9.” If that’s true, this would be big news for fans, especially since there have also been rumors that BILLY DEE WILLIAMS may be back as Lando Calrissian as well. “Star Wars 9” is expected to begin filming next month, so we should know more at that point.
